Another Georgian business speaks up - "Georgian Airways" asking for help

The Georgian air company “Georgian Airways” demands help. The company releases a special statement, where it says that the managing company of Tbilisi airport does not allow them to carry out flights and requests to cover "non-existing debts". The Georgian Airways representatives claim that it is impossible to operate and to develop the Georgian aviation under the management of Tbilisi Airport Managing Company "TAV Urban Georgia". The statement says that the state of the airport conditions have become unbearable recently.

"Turkish company “TAV Urban Georgia” does not allow the air company "Georgian Airways" to operate flights from Tbilisi International Airport and requests to cover non-existing debts, the only purpose of which is to rob the air company and its passengers. Such taxes as "TAV Urban Georgia" imposed do not exist in any other airport in Europe. The management of "Georgian Airways" believes that it is impossible to operate and to develop the Georgian aviation under the management of Tbilisi Airport Managing Company "TAV Urban Georgia". "TAV Urban Georgia" takes the net profit of more than 400 million GEL out of Georgia per year; in return we have the worst airport in the region and in Batumi airport there are unbearable conditions," - the company states.

According to Georgian Airways, "TAV Urban Georgia" refuses to reduce the fee and the Georgian aviation suffers more and more damages.

“TAV Urban Georgia”'s taxi prices are even more crushing. For example, if a passenger arriving at Tbilisi airport wants to go to Tbilisi center by taxi, he/she will have to use "TAV" taxi, which will cost at least 45 GEL. (Not permitting other taxi drivers to stay in the airport). We appeal to the public, our existing and potential passengers, everybody who thinks that “TAV Urban Georgia” should not operate the airports of Georgia, stand with us and let’s protest together against the crushing management of “TAV Urban Georgia” in our country," - the statement says.
