Habit #2: They identify so completely with the company that there is no clear boundary between their personal interests and the company's interests. This means the leader identified with his or her company too much. This excessive identifying often encourages the CEO to make unwise decisions. Instead of treating the company as something they need to care for, nurture, and protect, the CEO's may end up treating the company as an extension of themselves. They cause the company to do things that would make sense for a person but not for a company. This creates what might be considered a "private empire" mentality. The CEO may begin to behave as though they own the company, even if they do not. And they may begin to act like they have the right to do anything, which isn't true. When identifying too strongly with the company, they tend to make decisions that suit themselves but not the company. And they often confuse personal adversaries with company adversaries or competitors. Somewhat ironically, they may also become less careful with the company's assets. They take bigger risks because they view the money and assets as theirs; and by nature they tend to be bigger risk-takers than the average person. And in some cases they are apt to use corporate money for personal reasons. Most do not do this, but in some instances corporate money has been used to satisfy personal charitable responsibilities (or worse).", - წერს თამარ ჩერგოლეიშვილი.
