Deputy Director of Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency- Mamuka Moralishvili, together with the General Manager of Carrefour Tbilisi Mall Aymeric De Cadoudal , visited the school in Kekhijvari village (Kareli Region) and congratulated kids with National World Book Day. Due to the occasion the guests filled the newly built library of the school with books, in order to support educational development of the students. Guests also had a chance to attend special performance prepared by the kids. `
A campaign called “ Give a book" - was launched by the National library of parliament of Georgia and "Anagram", by the initiative of Giorgi Kekelidze, Head of National Library of Georgia. The main purpose of the initiative is to raise awareness about literacy and reading in the country.
In 1995, UNESCO officially announced April 23 as the National World Book Day. It has been commemorated since 1996 in order to promote reading, publishing and copyright.
