The 17th Tbilisi International Film Festival officially opened on November 28th and this year again it offers its audience a wide range of international and local film screenings. The festival consists of several sections: European cinema, French collection, a country in focus, special screening, etc.
Few years ago the festival laid the foundation for the national competition “Georgian Panorama”, in scope of which Georgian feature and documentary films are presented and the best directors are awarded. Third year in a row PASHA Bank is the exclusive sponsor of “Georgian Panorama”.
“We believe that the progress of cinema industry will serve not only cultural but also economic development of the country and therefore we have been supporting the “Georgian Panorama” of the Tbilisi International Film Festival for three years already. I would like to use this opportunity and thank the festival team for their efforts and hard work that make this festival so engaging and unique.”- commented Shahin Mammadov, CEO and Chairman of Board of Directors at PASHA Bank.
There are two official prizes for the categories: Best Film (Gold Prometheus) and Best Director (Silver Prometheus). Both are awarded to the winners in international as well as Georgian Panorama competitions. Last year the producer and director of the best Georgian film received special gifts from PASHA Bank - a trip to the Berlin International Film Festival.
